This Recom DC to DC Single Output converter is from the R-78xx-1.5 series. The switching regulator is ideally suited to replace the 1A 78xx linear regulators and is pin compatible. The convertor has a high voltage input range, and an efficiency of up to 97%, meaning that very little energy is wasted as heat, so there is no need for any heat sinks with their additional space.
