Data transfer is performed serially. Basically, the EIB installation consists of sensors = issuers of commands (such as light barriers, switches, thermostats, infrared, wind meter, timer clocks) and actors = command receivers (e.g. motors, heating, fans, lamps, blinds).
The EIB bus cable can be laid on, in and under plaster, in pipes and cable channels, in dry, damp and wet rooms.
