Sign InQ. Can this detect standard tv remote signals, or just signals sent from its matched emitter?
A. Hi Rob, naturally this infrared sensor will be most responsive to its matched transmitter, but may also receive TV remote signals to a point. The most common wave lengths are 870nm, 930nm and 950nm so this one at 940nm is between 2 of them. TV remotes not only use the wavelength – but a carrier wave – typically (but not exclusively) 38KHz so you would need to also consider this.
