I have been really impressed with this source/sensor pair. Its exceeded my expectations in a FTIR application. The sensor is subtle and excellent. However, I do not think the LEDs are very bright at the recommended power. In IR applications its difficult to compare the specified brightness to working conditions!

I use this product for a IR based proximity sensor. Much better and cheaper than a similar Sharp product.

I bought this to try and replicate the experiments done by Johnny Lee, using a wii remote and IR Led to create an interactive screen. He had been quite specific about the model of IR Led and I was unsure if this was the same.......It worked beautifully! I would recommend this product for anyone undertaking the same project.
