Sign InI have been using a sponge for years but thought I'd give one of these a try. It's the best change I've made in years. You don't have any mess, like water or bits coming off like you have with a sponge. There is no cooling effect on your tip. Which also causes damage over time and the cleaning effect is outstanding. When you clean your tip with one of these, it always appears as clean as when it was new. Highly Recommended.
Have been using it for a few months now and it's wonderful compared to sponges. Doesn't cool or destroy the tip of my Antex and Weller irons, cleans instantly, doesn't leave solder blobs everywhere and lasts a lot longer than sponges. Base is really solid and has a high friction rubber pad so it doesn't do a disappearing act. All the solder excess falls through into the base so it's easy to empty as well.
