Q. Hi, Is this cable OK (and flexible enough) to use between the iron and PSU on 24V 45W systems like Wellers PS-3D, or is it meant for the mains to the PSU only? If it's not for the iron, can you tell me what I should use please? Thanks, Dave.
A. Hi Dave. Thank you for your question. This cable is suitable for wiring soldering irons either to low voltage bases or direct to mains up to 3A load which is around 690W at 230V mains.
Q. What is the current rating of this cable at 24v? Thanks
A. Hi Mike. Thank you for your question. A 0.5mm flexible cable is rated at 3A for 240V AC, if you mean at 24V DC then this will be slightly lower as the voltage is not alternating and therefore the rating will be lower but no less than 2.5A.
Q. Is this silicone cable suitable for 50 w 24volt soldering irons
A. Hi Rob. Thank you for your question. I would use the 1.0mm size.
