Q. At 12v what resistor is required to protect these?

A. Hi Christine, thank you for your question. At 12V and 30mA you would need a 90 ohm resistor, we would suggest a common value of 100 ohm which would be suitable.

Q. can you use these with the arduino mega board if so will you need four wires????

A. Hi, thank you for your question. The LED only requires 2 connections as per the diagram on the data sheet but it requires 10V and approximately 25mA so will not work directly and certainly not on the digital outputs.
