Q. The datasheet for this component doesn't fully explain how to drive it. How do you drive this display?
A. Hi Adam. Thank you for your question. The displays with more than one digit within the same block are intended to be driven in a multiplexed mode. You would need a microcontroller to drive this display. Multiplexing reduces the number of control lines.
