The Adafruit 169 is a micro hobby servo based on the TowerPro SG92R platform. It operates from around 4.8–5 VDC and provides approximately 180° positional rotation under standard RC control pulses. The unit weighs about 9 g and is supplied with servo horns and mounting hardware for quick prototyping.
Typical uses include small robotics, pan/tilt camera brackets, animatronics and educational projects, where compact actuation is required with simple pulse-width control from a microcontroller. Default 1–2 ms pulse widths generally yield near 180° travel, with extended ranges available on some controllers when used cautiously.
Its key advantages are its very small size-to-torque ratio for lightweight mechanisms, broad ecosystem support in hobby and educational platforms, and the inclusion of horns that speeds up installation in breadboard and prototype assemblies.
