The VOLTCRAFT CT-3 is suitable for testing the inner conductors of an HDMI cable. Proper functioning is indicated via LEDs. The cable tester can be grouped into two separate modules, so already installed cables can be easily checked.

Q. Thanks for your quick response. Would this mean that I could disconnect and reconnect wires to various pins until the device shows all connections are working? Also my cable does not have drain (shield) wires so would the device work? For your information I'm using a screw HDMI module to allow easy connection/disconnection.
A. Hi Gordon. Thank you for your question. I see no reason why this would be a problem. It is only showing the connection either good or bad on the HDMI cable.
Q. Can this product be used to check if I have wired an hdmi connector correctly? I can't find a wiring diagram and need a way so I can try different connections and test. Also the data paired wires do not have drain (shield) wires. Is this necessary for the device to show a good connection? Thanks.
A. Hi Gordon. Thank you for your question. Both ends of the HDMI are connected and this checks in case there is any cross wiring or breaks in the cable or connector.
