The Tektronix P5200A is a high-voltage active differential probe designed to enable safe and accurate measurement of floating circuits using ground-referenced oscilloscopes. By converting differential high-voltage signals into low-voltage ground-referenced signals, the probe allows engineers to analyse power electronics, motor drives and other high-voltage systems without compromising measurement integrity.
Featuring switchable 50X and 500X attenuation settings, the P5200A supports differential measurements up to ±1300V and delivers 50MHz bandwidth for reliable analysis of power conversion and switching applications. The probe's high input impedance of 10MΩ combined with low input capacitance of 2pF helps minimise circuit loading while maintaining signal accuracy.
The probe is designed for use with any grounded-input oscilloscope via its BNC interface and is particularly suited to floating measurements in switching power supplies, motor drives, power converters, electronic ballasts and power device evaluation. An overrange indicator helps warn users when operating outside the probe's measurement range, enhancing both measurement confidence and safety.
