The EV-1-63-TP from matt:e is a simple, single dedicated connection unit with built-in O-PEN technology which allows for the connection of one 63A 3-phase load to an existing PME earthing facility.

The unit incorporates a 5-pole isolator with built-in shunt trip which disconnects all poles including CPC in the event of a fault. It is manually resettable in line with BS:7671.

The matt:e O-PEN technology does not require earth rods or measuring electrodes to function correctly.

Q. Is this suitable for supply of 3 Easee home bots wired in series 10mm 5 core cable?

A. The Easee Home Robots can be wired in series and connect back to 65-3430, the Easee Home come with Type B RCD protection inbuilt but you would still need to ensure relevant MCB protection is included at the mains distribution board, as 65-3430 doesn’t include this protection. Easee recommend NYY-J or High Tuff cable to connect into the Easee Home’s for ease of installation. Both the Matt:E and Easee devices have terminals suitable for 10mm 5 core cable. At point of commissioning, the Easee’s will need to be set up to limit at 63A on Three Phase via the Back office

Q. Could this unit supply a 3 phase distribution board that then supplies 2 x 3 phase charge points?

A. Hello Sam, This unit is designed to connect onto a 3 Phase supply. In terms of supplying the chargers, this can be done, but you may need additional MCB and RCD protection, dependant on what Chargepoint you are using. Other Matt:E solutions may be more suitable, EVU-2-32-TP-R / 65-3775 is a potential option which allows for connection to two Chargepoints and includes the relevant RCD/MCB protection as included in the unit.
