Q. I am interested in purchasing two of these batteries to give 24V at 200Ah to store electricity from a Nedap Solar Power inverter for use later each day to drive the system after sunset. I presume from the deep discharge specification and 12 year design life it will be a good choice for this work. Is there a standard cable available to series the two batteries, type HZ12-12-200.
A. Hi Antony. Thank you for your question. There is not as standard cable as such – since it will be dictated to some extent by the intended discharge rate. If you are powering an inverter to main voltage – the current drain on the battery can be huge so need to be taken into account. For example – a 600W inverter will draw something like 2.5A but has only a small useful range of uses. Bigger usage will require large inverters – and so the current drain increases. As a general rule most jump start leads will be adequate such as 89-0730 but not very elegant. If a more elegant connection method is required – we probably have a suitable cable to enable one to be made – but do need to know the maximum current anticipated to avoid burning it out.
