C R Clarke's R30 Schred Press uses heat and pressure to reform plastic granules into usable sheets. It can be used on a workbench or with the optional R30S stand (34-8566).
The machine consists of two hotplates, each with temperature control. The upper hotplate is fixed in position, and the lower hotplate can be raised and lowered using a manually operated hydraulic pump.
Shredded plastic material is loaded into a material cassette, that is then clamped shut and loaded into the R30. The hydraulic clamp is then used to press the material, forming a usable 457 x 254mm plastic sheet, 2 to 3mm thick. After pressing, the sheet is allowed to cool and is removed from the cassette.
The use of additional cassettes can speed up production depending upon the output required, as cassettes can be rotated through the process: one loading, one pressing, one cooling is ideal.

Q. Hi, Can acrylic be shredded into granules and loaded into this heat press to recycle waste cuts of acrylic into 3mm sheets? Cheers.
A. Hi Conor, thank you for your question. The manufacturer states the following: "shredded plastic material is loaded into a material cassette, that is then clamped shut and loaded into the R30". However acrylic plastic is not specified (see section 4 in the manual which can be found here.)
