The A3983SLPTR-T is a complete microstepping motor driver that features a built-in translator for easy operation. The device is designed to operate bipolar stepper motors in full, half, quarter, and eighth-step modes and has an output drive capacity of up to 35V and 2A. The IC includes a fixed off-time current regulator which has the ability to operate in slow or mixed decay modes. The translator simplifies the operation of the driver, ensuring that one pulse on the STEP input will drive the motor one microstep, making the driver fit for applications where a complex microprocessor is unavailable or overburdened.
