A 6V, 10Ah valve regulated lead-acid SLA battery from the Yuasa NP Series.

The battery's unique style of construction ensures that there is no electrolyte leakage. It may be used in either standby or cyclic applications, achieving up to 1200 charge / discharge cycles.

Typical uses include memory back-up systems, test equipment, fire and security alarms as well as golf trolleys, wheelchairs, emergency lighting, lawn mowers, electric tools and measuring instruments.

Q. Can I use 3 of these in parallel to provide a 3A infrared array for 10 hours. (for night time photography) I can then use the batteries individually for separate Pi projects at other times. If so is it safe (from an explosion viewpoint) to put them in a waterproof container of some description when using them externally ?

A. Hi Nic, thanks for your question. These batteries can be run in parallel to increase current capacity and also used separately. They would also be safe in a waterproof container.
