Re previous comment, R1 to R4 are fine with the 1k resistors supplied - I made it this way (they're only little LED's) - maybe not quite as bright as they would be with 100R but the battery will last longer this way

R1 to R4 should be 100R not 1K as supplied. The tree last nearly 3 days continuously left on with a PP3 battery.
