Q. Hi, Can you recommend a knob for this rotary switch please? I am having difficulty finding one for this shaft diameter.
Q. I am trying to make a cigar box amp. I have two speakers, some wiring, and a small amp that I robbed from two computer speakers. One speaker can connect with the other. The small amp I robbed from one of the speakers has two switches; one for volume and the other for on/off. I would like to use the amp in a cigar box but the shafts will not reach through the sides of the box. I need either to replace the switches which looks impossible as if they were meant to be permanent with the amp circuit or replace or extend the shafts which I cannot seem to find any way to do so. Can shafts be extended? If so with what component? Can they be replaced? If so how? The on/off switch is push/pull and the volume switch is continuous. I would appreciate help very much. Thank you.
A. Hi Michael, thanks for your enquiry. Our technical team suggest that you consider snipping the wires that control the on off and volume and extend these so the rotary’s will be able to fit. The shaft could be extended with some tube or steel shaft. We will be better able to advise if you could send us a picture we can have a better look. The email address is feedback@rapidelec.co.uk
