The Aim-TTi SMU4001 Source Measure Unit is a compact, four quadrant unit, designed to deliver precision sourcing and measurement for demanding electronic characterisation tasks. Operating within a ±21V, ±3.15A, 25W power envelope, it offers 0.015% basic accuracy with 6½ digit resolution, alongside ultra fine measurement capability down to 0.1µV and 100fA. PowerFlex technology enables full output power across most of the voltage range, while sense terminals with 4 wire and guard capabilities ensure highly stable, low noise performance. With measurement speeds as fast as 200µs (5kS/s), the unit is well suited to fast device characterisation and transient sensitive applications.
The SMU4001 features an intuitive touchscreen interface supported by advanced sweep capabilities, including linear, logarithmic, pulsed, and arbitrary list sweeps. Internal storage for up to 100k measurements and steps is also provided, plus powerful built in math and data handling functions such as tolerance band evaluation and result sorting. Featuring LAN/LXI and USB interfaces as standard (with GPIB available optionally), and supporting synchronous dual SMU operation via SMU Link, the instrument integrates easily into automated test environments and multi channel characterisation setups.
Typical applications include I V characterisation, semiconductor and materials testing, battery charging/discharging, leakage and insulation resistance measurement, and precision sourcing or sinking of current and voltage in both research and industrial development. Its combination of speed, resolution, and flexible sourcing modes makes the SMU4001 a highly capable tool for laboratory, production, and academic environments requiring dependable, high performance source measurement capability.
