The Grove PIR Motion Sensor from Seeed Studio detects movement at up to 3m with a detection angle of 120°. When something intrudes into the detection area the sensor raises its output line to a logic 1. If you want to change the detection distance or holding time solder pads are provided for a pair of 10k Ohm potentiometers.

Q. What does the 'D1' connector pin do? Also can this be used with a genie?
A. Hi Jack, thank you for your question. The manufacturer does not state what this pin is used for; it does not appear to be suitable for working with Genie chips/boards. The connector is supplied with the unit.
