Q. Is it possible to make a slip out of the clay as we are hoping to make some 2 colour medieval tiles using the terracotta as the base colour but need to be able to add a second colour into the mould fairly rapidly.
A. Hi Anne, thank you for your question. You would need to colour the clay using paint once it sets. Adding colour at any other stage may impair the product setting properly.

Q. Hi Have just bought 12.5 kilos of Scola Clay. I am a miniaturist and therefore will only use a little at a time. How would you suggest I keep it between use as it might be several weeks between use and will clearly start to dry out if exposed to air
A. Hi Linda. Thank you for your question. Just make sure the bags are sealed really well - as they are delivered - and the clay will stay in the same form as it is originally - as long as they are not exposed too long in air they should last a long time.

A. Hi Peter. Thank you for your question. We have spoken to the manufacturers and there are no fumes or handling issues associated with firing this product.

Q. What are the H&S issues when firing your nylon reinforced clay? Are there and fumes? does the nylon burn out and create fumes? are there any other issues?
A. Hi Peter. Thank you for your question. The last section of the data sheet says that other than the fibreglass burning away - it is the same as standard firing clay.
