Q. How would you drill a hole for this in a case? How will you make that small 1 mm insert?
A. Hi, thank you for your question. An exact hole with the 1mm insert would be cut by a dedicated machine in professional applications. This is achieved with a punch or laser cutting. A milling machine with CNC control and a small cutter would work as well. By hand: This will be hard by hand although you could do it by making the hole 1mm smaller and filing the hole bigger apart from where the insert is to be.However very time consuming. In reality the nuts hold it well enough in a round hole. I have used these in round holes and they function correctly. The insert just stops the whole thing turning when you tighten the outer nut. Hold the switch from the back then tighten it if you are using a round hole.

Q. Can this be used as a SPDT switch - by using only one half of the contact (the 3 on one-side)? You don't sell a regular sized SPDT switch and need an alternative to the miniature version.
A. Hi David, thanks for your question. Yes, you can do that with this switch.
