Nutrient agar is a general purpose growth medium suitable for use in a range of biological experiments. Use 28g powder to 1 litre de-ionised water. Leave for 10 minutes, swirl and sterilise for 15 minutes at 121°C. Cool to 47°C, mix well then pour into plates or Petri dishes.
