Rapid shortlisted for Distributor of the Year at Elektra Awards 2021
Rapid is delighted to have been shortlisted in the category of Distributor of the Year at the Elektra 2021 awards, the Oscars of the electronics industry.

It will be the fifth time in six years that the company has been nominated in this prestigious category.

Among Rapid's highlights this year have been the announcement of the development of our partnership with test and measurement manufacturer Tektronix, for whom Rapid has become a technical partner, to give specialist support to industrial and education customers of Tektronix. We have also furthered our ties with enclosure and connector manufacturer CamdenBoss, as well as renewing our Quality Management System certifications for ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Recently we launched an exclusive own brand R-TECH, which offers quality products at an attractive price point, delivering significant commercial benefits for customers.

This will be the first time in two years that the Elektra Awards will be held in person, due to the pandemic, but the ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 1 December will still be available to attend virtually.

To have been nominated again in the Elektras is a great achievement, said James Bates, Rapid's Managing Director. Rapid, like every other UK business, had to adapt to each successive period of lockdown or relaxation over the last 18 months, and do the very best in difficult circumstances for our customers, staff and suppliers. The fact that we have not only survived but thrived, tells you a lot about our flexibility as a business, the skills of our staff and the strength of our supplier relationships. It was not just Covid that we had to manage; the threat of a no-deal, and then the reality of a last minute deal Brexit; the global semiconductor shortage, the bottleneck at container ports, the Suez canal accident and the ‘pingdemic’ – these all tested our resilience.

But we, as someone famously once said, have ‘bounce-back-ability’. We are committed to 'helping you make it', whether through our excellent customer service, wide range of products, or value added services such as long term stock agreements, said Mr Bates.

Find out more about how we can help you make it.

The other shortlisted companies are Digi-Key Electronics, Mouser Electronics, Inc., Powell Electronics Europe, Radwell International Ltd., Rochester Electronics Ltd. and RS Components.
