Q. what is the difference between switched and unswitch i have 2 broken one when no plug is inserted the terminals touch and one that looks like a inner sleeve of some kind has broken off and the contacts never touche cheers len

A. Hi Len. Thank you for your question. The switched version are normally designed if more than one jack are often being used so allowing a combination of wiring possibilities so often used on speakers if the second jack is inserted this would open a switched part of the circuit allowing the signal to flow through a different part of the jack.
