Q. The application is that normally there is no current drain on the power supply. Maybe 10 times an hour, a 12V switch closes and the power supply must drive a 10A solenoid for about 1 second, the solenoid being highly inductive. Then the 12V switch opens and there is no drain on the power supply. Is this power supply suitable for this application?
A. Hi Steve, thanks for your question. An inductive load will draw more than 10A initially – and 12.5A max of this may/may not be sufficient – but is the highest power rating we offer. A product with greater capacity would be more advisable if possible.
