A. Hi Graham. Thank you for your question. Flanged will mean that the mounting flange is part of the main box so may be fixed in place before the lid is fitted, a flanged lid – the lid is the larger part – so must be fitted to the main box before fitting to a wall or surface. In other word – the mounting flanges are at the top or the bottom of the box.
