Q. Can two of these chimes be installed in parallel (one upstairs, one down) to run off a single transformer?
A. Hi Dee, thank you for your question. The transformer would need to have twice the capacity 2A for two chimes to function without damage to the transformer as each chime needs around 1A.
Q. we have had d454 for over 30 years which is battery operated, If we purchase a new one is it wired ready for use or does it have to be assembed by an electrician.
A. Hi Sally, thank you for your question. It will need some wiring in as explained in the installation instructions.
Q. I want to replace a Friedland door chime of a very similar design (but in black plastic casing and gold disc) which I bought in the 1970's: the solenoid doesn't work. Is this the same model - which we liked very much because of its traditional sound. Is it the same 'ding-dong ? Will the old black / gold outer casing fit 23-5732 ?
A. Hi James. Thank you for your question. Although we can not guarantee the housings will interchange as the tooling may have changed over the years however it can be set to the traditional ding-dong chime.
Q. Would you confirm the colour of the plastic casing. it appears to be white on the computer screen with a stainless steel disc in the centre.
A. Hi Geoff. Thank you for your question. This doorbell has a silver disc and is white on the outside.
Q. Is the warbler door chime mechanical or electronic?
A. Hi Geoff. Thank you for your question. This is a mechanical chime.
Q. is this the one that emits a continuous ding dong ding dong etc for as long as the bell push is pressed ?
A. Hi David. Thank you for your question. There are 2 sounds. In one mode the bell goes ding when you press and dong when you let go. In the other sound mode it will repeat the ding dong for as long as the button is held down.
