This light curtain receiver unit has a protection height of 271mm and is a device that can be used in safety critical situations where risks cannot be eliminated through machine design. The sensor literally 'curtains off', using light beams, such that when the barrier is breached the output from the sensor can be used to operate emergency stops or other control signals.
