Sign InQ. Is this material fuel safe? As in does petrol degrade/dissolve it?
A. Hi Phil, thank you for your question. These are made from Polyolefins and are broken down mainly by light but extended exposure to strong chemicals like petrol will cause premature break down of the heat shrink, so it is not fuel safe.
Good product, shrinks nicely with heat. Handy size, easy to use. Do check you get the size you want - it shrinks to approx 50% of the stated size.
