Q. How lightfast are they?
A. Hi Carol, thank you for your question. The supplier has stated: "The drawing inks when painted out will fade due to their lightfast instability as they are acid dyes and absorb light energy which degrades them, if the picture is framed this will hep to slow down this effect as the glass prevents the oxygen which is required for the degradation to occur. The actual inks themselves benefit from being kept in a cupboard i.e. dark as this will ensure a greater shelf life and protection from UV rays. All dyes are susceptible to light damage but some are worse than others so other dyes will fade over time too, which is why it is best to either keep the art work in a folder or to frame it while on display."
