02 November 2015 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-0561
Q. Can the CS 18 soldering iron run straight from mains electricity 240V socket
A. Hi Martin, thank you for your question. This is not a mains iron, it is a 24V version which requires a transformer like 85-0915. For a mains powered Antex iron please consider a complete package like 85-1145.

12 February 2014 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-0572
Q. Can the 12V version run from a standard school lab PSU if two 4mm plugs are fitted to the end?
A. Hi S Arnott. Thank you for your question. This is possible in principle if the PSU is set to a reliable 12V and is capable of 1.5A. The irons are usually AC operated but can be run on DC.

15 March 2013 Question by: Rapid Customer
Q. I am looking for an Antex low-voltage soldering iron featuring 50W at 24 V. I believe that Antex produced this type of soldering iron but I am unable to find it in the present range you propose. Thank you very much for advising.
A. Hi Alfredo. Thank you for your question. There is a 24V 50W iron - 85-4780. It is only sold as an accessory to a station set up - 85-4750.
