19 November 2015 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-6646
Q. Hi There My original question was about soldering copper wire to model railway tracks. Your suggestion of "Dipping Flux", would it be okay to dip a small paintbrush into the flux to apply flux to the work piece?? Kevin
A. Hi Kevin, thank you for your question. The dipping flux would be used before tinning the wire. if you prefer you can use 85-6648 for the same application you have mentioned but the dipping flux can be used with a small paintbrush to protect the solder joints.

10 May 2012 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 85-6646
Q. I have large stocks of stranded tinned copper wire that have aged and the tin(lead?) plating has become difficult to solder. Is this dipping flux (or anything similar) suitable for restoring the solderability of this wire?
A. Thanks for your enquiry David. The dipping flux is used before the wire is tinned so I don't think it would help much. I would suggest you re-tin the wire using product code 85-1050.
