This nice, low cost component works great for breadboard prototyping, because it fits nicely in the holes on most breadboards, and stays put. It is also particularly good for hand soldering because once placed into the board the slight bend in the legs holds the component tightly in place and so it doesn't fall out when the board is reversed, and the short legs do not require trimming.
