Q. hdmi to dvi cable does not do sound is there an hdmi to dvi cable that also has a 3.5 stereo jack output as well?
A. Hi Chris. Thank you for your question. As HDMI is a digital interface and the audio embedded is digital you cannot get the audio out to a 3.5mm analogue jack and DVI is just a digital video interface. To get audio to and from the device you will need a phono to 3.5mm audio lead as long as the output device has phono audio out sockets like 35-4473.
