Q. I have assembled the lcd module and fully checked everything is in placed. The screen does not show anything even on test mode. Any ideas what is wrong. Am I right to assume that the driver code is already loaded on the supplied PIC chip?
A. Hi John, thank you for your question. We would suggest trying the contrast control first (potentiometer on PCB) page 5 of the data sheet ensuring the power supply is accurately between 4.5-5.5V maximum and double check all the soldering connections made.

Q. Is it possible to connect a Genie chip to any other backlit LCD display?
A. Thanks for your enquiry Bill. This particular module has been constructed so that the PCB backplate accepts the data lines in the correct order. There is no reason why another display could not be used but care must be used to ensure the display input lines are correctly connected to the appropriate pins.
