Q. What is the deference between genie 18 and genie e8?
A. Hi Miomir, thank you for your question. The difference is mainly the number of pins the chip has: the Genie 18 has 18 pins, please see this data sheet whereas the Genie 8 has 8 pins, please see this data sheet.

A. Hi David. Thank you for your question. The E18 has 8 outputs. Each could drive an LED. If you are using one of the outputs for a motor then you can have 7 LEDs.

A. Hi Adrian. Thank you for your question. These GENIE kits are not really designed to power a relay but they could possibly be used to activate a relay. You would be better of using the E18 project kit (13-6015).

A. Hi Conor. Thank you for your question. You can use a battery box that takes 8 batteries such as 18-0128.

A. Hi, thanks for your question. Capability is 600ma output for the motor continuous with a 1A peak intermittently.

Q. I want to put 6 ultra-bright white LEDs on Q0 to Q5 of an E18 micro-controller. Which are the best LEDs and how do I determine the resistance value?
A. Thanks for your enquiry Tom. A resistance of around 100R would be advisable assuming a 5v power supply. Product code 55-2216 would be a suitable LED.
