High-µ, low current double triode valve housed in a standard miniature B9A envelope. This large anode/plate version by Edicron features a spiral filament, making it ideal for audio applications.

Intended for amplifier applications such as phase splitter, cathode follower etc.
Its low noise, hum and microphony, plus high gain make it particularly suited to low level audio applications

Q. if an ECC83 is on its way out will it cause the amp to loose complete volume for a few seconds.

A. Hi Les. Thank you for your question. This could be a possibility - we have heard of this before often after a few years they can fade so may be worth replacing.
