The Dobot Explorer Vision (Smart Education Edition) Quadruped Robot is an advanced mobile robotics platform, designed for AI learning, research and intelligent system development. Its point-legged quadruped design provides stable mobility across varied terrain, supporting movement at speeds up to 1.8m/s, climbing inclines of 30–35° and overcoming obstacles up to 16cm. With a payload capacity of 3kg to 7kg, it is suited to a wide range of educational and experimental applications.
The platform integrates enhanced sensing and AI processing to support advanced perception and autonomous operation. It features dual front and rear 1080p RGB cameras with depth sensing, alongside an additional Intel RealSense D435i camera for improved environmental mapping and analysis. These systems enable functions including SLAM, intelligent obstacle avoidance and active following, with voice interaction and app-based control supporting flexible user engagement. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 4G capability for reliable communication and data transfer.
Designed for development and experimentation, the Explorer Vision includes a 40 TOPS computing platform to support AI workloads, alongside a camera software package and Isaac Gym simulation environment. It provides C++ and Python SDKs with access to both low-level control such as joint torque and gait parameters and high-level functions including motion speed control and action state management. The platform also supports ongoing expansion with future motion and navigation application routines.
