The
SSP series from Gossen Metrawatt are single-channel programmable power supplies for universal use in R&D, production and testing. With an internal microcontroller these units are capable of storing and generating complex sequences of voltages and currents with a resolution of less than 1mS. The addition of RS232 ports means that up to 32 individually addressable supplies can be controlled from a single PC. The instruments are capable of maintaining either constant voltage or constant current levels, and deliver 240W of nominal power over a wide range thanks to the autoranging output. Outputs are available on both the front and rear panels, the rear panel also has an analog 0 to 10V interface and 20mA outputs for the PSU's status. Also on the rear panel is a through mains supply allowing up to three SSPs to use the same mains input. Multiple devices can be linked together to achieve a desired output voltage, by using a master slave configuration the load current is shared equally and the output is controlled from the master supply. Over-temperature protection is a standard feature.
