These Siemens DIN Rail Communication Modules are used to connect a SIMATIC S7-1200 to PROFIBUS as a DP Master or Slave. They allow the connection of programming devices and operator panels to the interface. The modules are intended for use in factory automation, particularly for mechanical engineering.

With the CM 1243-5 and CM 1242-5, low-cost distributed automation solutions can be implemented in simple cases, even complete plant automation systems. They can be used in all sectors of discrete automation. These include Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Semiconductors and Food processing industry.
