Q. We are needing to replace the blown LEDs in our 3V Ray boxes. Would these be suitable?
A. Hi Greg. Thank you for your question. They are possibly not that suitable as they need 3.2 to light them up, they may just work but would not be an exact match in the original lamp fitting.
Q. Could i put this LED in a series circuit using 2x AA batteries (3V) or would i need a resistor too?
A. Hi Matt. Thank you for your question. These LEDs have a forward voltage of 3.2V LED so the 3V 2 x AA batteries wired in series will provide would not need a resistor on a single LED. However, you would need an extra 3.2V for each LED you wire in series. You could however add these in parallel without changing the battery pack or adding any resistor, obviously the more LEDs you use the shorter the battery life.
