The Adafruit ATmega32u4 Breakout Board is a neat, breadboard friendly 32U4 ready to plug in to a USB port for power and programming. Running at 16MHz the 32U4 has 32kbytes of Flash, 2.5kbytes of RAM and 1kbytes of EEPROM. Plus of course it has a full-speed USB 2.0 interface and a bootloader. The bootloader is open source and works with AVRdude.
Other features include a big user friendly Reset button, a 500mA fuse on the USB power, a power good LED and a user LED, 4 x mounting holes.
Supplied as an assembled and tested board plus strips of 0.1in. pitch header pins for you to solder as required. You will also need a USB to mini-USB (not micro-USB) cable. Adafruit provide a free tutorial to help get you started.
