The Pimoroni Display-O-Tron 3000 is the retro-future display you've been waiting for and has a 26-pin GPIO connector for your Raspberry Pi A, A+, B or B+. It's unusual for a piece of technology to look this good and be genuinely useful too. The DoT3K gives you a 3 x 16 LCD display with 3 x RGB backlights to suit your mood and excercise your creativity. A 9-segment bar-graph sits below the main display and to one side there's a 4-way joystick with pushbutton for user interaction. It will fit neatly in a V2/B+ Pibow case though you'll need to get creative to allow access to the joystick.
There's excellent Python support from Pimoroni too. They've made libraries and examples (from basic to advanced) available on their Github repository to get you started and to give you ideas. If you've not used Github, don't worry, it's a place where you can download files or simply copy and paste them into your own software. Visit https://github.com/pimoroni/dot3k
Did we mention it's stylish? They've put an Art-Deco border along the bottom, simply because they could.
