The MAX813L series of microprocessor supervisory ICs are low-cost devices that enable the reduction in complexity and component count associated with the monitoring and control of power supplies and battery functions in microprocessor systems. In addition, improvements in system reliabilty and accuracy further enhance the efficacy of these devices compared to separate ICs or discrete components.

The family provides four functions: a reset output during conditions of power-up, power-down or brownout, a 1.25V threshold detector for power-fail warning, low-battery detection, or for monitoring a power supply other than +5V, an active-low manual-reset input and an independent watchdog output that goes low if the watchdog input has not been toggled within 1.6 seconds.

Suitable applications for this device include computers, controllers, intelligent instruments, automotive systems and critical microprocessor power monitoring.
