Irwin Record bolt cutters made their debut in 1923. A bolt cutter consists of two drop-forged steel handles, which open and close the jaws through a compound action. This action means that every pound of force applied to the handles is amplified to produce 80lbs of force between the jaws.
The jaws are drop forged from a special steel and machined to precise specifications. This produces a resilient body and rigid cutting edge.
