A. Hi Paul, thank you for your question. As with all coiled components like solenoids it is advisable that you do not continually energise them to avoid overheating.

Q. This solenoid has a nominal voltage of 12V. Does this mean it only works at 12V, or would it still operate safely and effectively at 9V or 15V?
A. Hi Paul. Thank you for your question. This solenoid is rated at a nominal voltage of 12V and trying to run it at over 12V is not recommended, at a lower voltage if too low the device will not activate.
