Not quite good enough from Fluke

Reviewed by: Kevin Allen - 08 August 2019
OK it's nice enough. But it's not clear how you actually pack it! Do we really need a user manual for a case? That sounds crazy - but given this is a custom case for the intellitone200 probe and toner it's not clear how you put the kit in it. I've tried several combinations of putting the probe, toner and cables in this case, and none of them are fully satisfactory. I've never managed to get the velcro to mate fully, it's like the case is just a little too short for the length of the probe. Hmmmm. I do expect better from Fluke - this is a custom case for this kit and it's not a cheap case. Functionality wise, this has a long pocket with a central velcro pad (presumably for the probe, but the pocket overall is about an inch too short), a front touch with a velcro attached internal divider (presumably for the toner and banana/croc cables) with a flap-over material/velcro strap (presumable to hold the toner secure, but the strap is too long to the velcro pad so the toner can slop about). There is an additional pocket in the flap lid but there is no velcro seal. I've put the RJ cables in here as there isn't really enough space for all cables in the front pocket. There is a rear belt loop sewn into the rear of the whole pouch, plus a plastic triangle that would take say a carabiner clip. There is also a flap - open at the bottom - but it's not clear if this has a purpose or if it's some artefact of the manufacturing needs! So overall it's a "nice enough" case that should do the job, but Fluke have slightly missed the attention to detail of actually fitting it to the intended equipment so I'm afraid I'd have to give them a C-minus grade!
