This Ø12mm pressure sensor consists of two membranes separated by a thin air gap maintained by a spacer. One membrane has a printed circuit and the other membrane has conductive ink such that, when the sensor is pressed the ink shorts the traces of the PCB circuit, presenting a resistance proportional to the applied force. The sensor has a wide range of actuating applications and their size, low cost and shock resistance make them preferable over other types of sensor.
