The PICkit 3 from Microchip is an in-circuit debugger/programmer for PIC and dsPIC FLASH microcontrollers and is a low cost tool that requires a minimum of additional hardware and no expensive sockets or adaptors. The kit is controlled using the powerful and easy to use graphical interface of the MPLAB X IDE software (supplied) running on a Windows PC.
The PICkit 3 can now also reprogram any PIC microcontroller with a simple push of a button with the Programmer-To-Go function. The device can also be connected to the target via an Microchip debug (RJ-11) connector (compatible with MPLAB ICD 2, MPLAB ICD 3 and MPLAB REAL ICE). The connector uses two device I/O pins and the reset line to implement in-circuit debugging and In-Circuit Serial Programming.
Application usage can vary from software development to hardware integration.
